Each day, you'll head out with your guide to hunt moose in the prime habitats of the area, using calls to lure in big bulls during the peak of the rut. You'll have the chance to see the hair on the back of your neck stand up as a massive bull moose answers your call.

In the afternoons and early mornings, you'll switch your focus to hunting for caribou, using your guide's expertise to track and hunt the elusive animals in the pristine wilderness of Manitoba, Canada.

Between hunting sessions, you can relax and enjoy the comfortable accommodations, delicious meals, and excellent amenities offered by the lodge, including a freezer, shower, generator, and sat phone. You can also take advantage of the opportunity to fish for Grayling, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike, or hunt for Wolf and Ptarmigan.

At Munroe Lake Lodge, you'll have the ultimate combination of moose and caribou hunting, with experienced guides, personalized service, and everything you need for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.

  • 7:00 A.M.

    • Breakfast is served. Every morning is a simple, hearty, different breakfast to get fuelled up for your day.

    • As soon as you are done with breakfast and lunches are made, you and your guide, either by boat or on foot, are on the tundra looking for that big trophy bull.

  • 6:00 P.M.

    • Supper is served. We often add local treats such as caribou or lake trout.

    • Hunters coming in early or looking for a little break often go fishing. Trophy Lake Trout and Northern Pike are taken within minutes to camp in the past.

Each boat will have a full boat tank, extra fuel, depth finder with fresh battery, GPS-SPOT, seat cushions, life jackets, net or cradle. Everything you need for a great day of fishing.

    • Lodge Manager likes to be at the dock when you leave for the day and when you return after the day of hunting, to make sure you have everything you need or to hear about what you would like for the next time you go out.

  • 7:30 am – 5:30 pm

    • Usually the first day is more of an exploration of various spots. Then, the rest of the trip, you expand on these spots. Depending on weather you could head down to the south end of Munroe Lake to hunt in the Greening River or try out some spots in and around McKinnon Bay. You could decide to stay on the East side and call from the shores or go for a hike.

    • One day you might decide to stay on the West side, exploring Brownstone River, or Pike Bay.

  • 5:30 p.m.

    • Every day our staff will have prepared a different delicious appetizer available in the main lounge. Many of our guests enjoy their favorite beverage while they try out these tasty treats.

  • 6:00 p.m.

    • Supper is served.

  • 7:00 p.m.

    • After supper, you can go for an evening hunt or fish for a few hours, go for a walk, or just relax in the main lounge. We just like to know where you are planning to go, for safety purposes.

  • Bedtime:

    • When you are ready, you can retire to your room for the evening. Our guests tend to sleep very well, with all the excitement of fishing, good food, and fresh air.

Last Day

  • Morning departure on the floatplane back to Munroe Lake Lodge.

  • At Munroe we transfer all your baggage, meat, and large racks to the Cessna Caravan on the airstrip.

  • The Caravan brings you to Thompson, but because of varying fall weather we recommend you make your travel arrangements from Thompson as late in the day as possible.
