A Guest’s Fishing Experience

As a fishing lodge, there’s only so much we can do to tell you why you should visit us. We can describe our beautiful lodge, located deep in the wilderness of Northern Manitoba. We can talk about our incredible guides, who will take you to all the best fishing spots in the area.

We can even give you a low-down of what you can expect on a day-to-day basis and give you tips on how we like to fish in the area.

At the end of the day, though, we’re biased—of course, we want you to come to our lodge!

Today, we’re doing something a bit different. We’re going to highlight the fishing experience of a group of anglers who came up to our lodge—a group we’re confident will come back again.

Five Days—702 Fish

This group of anglers caught 702 fish in just five days. They spent about two and a half days fishing for Trout and two and a half days fishing for Pike. In that time, they caught:

  • 525 Trout

  • 177 Pike

Let’s do a little math. You’ll spend 10-14 hours a day at our lodge fishing. Imagine you max out your time on the water—that’s 70 hours of fishing over 5 days. In that (very conservative) timeframe, our guests caught over 10 fish an hour.

That’s a ludicrous number of fish. And our guest’s experience gets even better.

“It's Honestly the Craziest Lake I've Ever Seen”

That’s a direct quote from one of the anglers in this group (Mr. Chris Taillefer).

These waters are teeming with fish because they’ve gone almost completely unfished for centuries. The only limit to how many fish you’re going to catch is your endurance—as long as you’re willing to go out on the lake, you’ll find plenty of trophy fish to catch.

Some Tips From Chris

Our guest has a few more tips for any anglers who follow in his footsteps and join us at our lodge. He says that if you target Pike all day, you can expect to catch 50-75 in a single day. He recommends summer as the best time to come Trout fishing with us, where he’s caught 100-150 Trout a day.

For summertime fishing, he recommends hitting the deeper weed patches if you’re fishing for Pike. Looking to catch Trout? In the summer, they all congregate in one or two holes looking for cooler waters—and that means an endless supply for anglers.
